New ‘Mummy’ Trailer Ventures into Uncharted Territory
Okay, i’ve never considered the possibility that Tom Cruise could possibly play Nathan Drake from “Uncharted,” but this new trailer for “The Mummy” makes a pretty good case for it.
Seriously the first few parts of the trailer look like they’re ripped right out of an “Uncharted” game. And I’m not complaining about that, I’m hoping that the new film is able to strike a balance between horror and adventure like the first Brendan Fraser “Mummy” was able to do.
Here’s a brief synopsis for the flick:
Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.
From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.
“The Mummy” hits theaters on June 9th and stars Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe. Check out the trailer down below.
