New Trailer for Skinwalker Ranch

A new trailer was released today for actor Devin McGinn‘s directorial debut, Skinwalker Ranch.  Following the events a year after the mysterious disappearance of Hoyt Miller’s eight-year-old son Cody at the hands of an unknown entity, the found footage film takes us inside a team of researchers hired to find the boy and document their attempt at bringing him back.

McGinn has played some bit parts on popular shows like Bones, Castle, and your mother’s favorite, NCIS, as well as voicing the character Charlie in the animated cult-favorite The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu.  The script was written by newcomer Adam Ohler with Ken Bretschneider, Tobijah Tyler, and Murphy Michaels producing.

There are many legends surrounding Skinwalker Ranch, a 480 acre piece of land out in the plains of Utah.  The site is reportedly the location of several paranormal phenomena, including the presence of Skin-walkers from the Native American (predominately Navajo) legend about people with the ability to change shape into any animal they desire.  UFO sightings, ghosts, and various bi-pedal cryptids have also been reported.

Although the land has been plagued by disappearances and cattle mutilations, famed skeptic James Randi awarded the authors of the book Hunt for the Skinwalker, an account of ‘research’ conducted by co-authors Colm Kelleher and George Knapp, the Pigasus award, an annual award given to psychic frauds and other nefarious types of that nature.

While the so called evidence points towards…whatever, a series of articles written by Knapp detail the terrifying and mysterious events that were reportedly experienced by the recent owners of Skinwalker Ranch.  He’s also a frequent host on the beloved syndicated radio show Coast to Coast AM.

Even if the stories have given us the ol’ cock-and-bull, the film looks interesting enough and the legends are intriguing nonetheless.  Take a gander at the trailer below and let us know in the comments if you believe the tales of Skinwalker Ranch.
