Nicolas Cage to Star in Lovecraftian Horror Film ‘Color Out of Space’
I think “Mandy” might’ve been somewhat divisive with people. Though the vast majority of people that come into contact with it seemed to love it, there was some also strong dislike for the movie. And I get where they’re coming from, it was a little weird, but I still loved it. Now the producers of “Mandy” are looking to strike Nicolas Cage gold again with a new movie.
SpectreVision is producing a new film based on the H.P. Lovecraft novella “Color out of Space.” The film adaptation will star Nicolas Cage, Joely Richardson, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight, Julian Hilliard, and Q’Orianka Kilcher.
COLOR OUT OF SPACE is a story of cosmic terror about The Gardners, a family who moves to a remote farmstead in rural New England to escape the hustle of the 21st century. They are busy adapting to their new life when a meteorite crashes into their front yard. The mysterious aerolite seems to melt into the earth, infecting both the land and the properties of space-time with a strange, otherworldly color. To their horror, the Gardner family discover that this alien force is gradually mutating every life form that it touches…including them.
But what makes this movie even more interesting is that it’ll be directed by Richard Stanley, you may recall him from having been involved with disastrous “Island of Dr. Moreau.” This will mark his first feature film in over twenty years. So this could get pretty wild. Stay tuned for more.
