Ouija Pulls in a Bates Motel Star
From the scenic views of the Bates Motel to the seedy underbelly of the board game world. The movie based on Hasbro’s Ouija Board franchise is drawing in another actor.
Yesterday we told you that “Ouija” had landed it’s first actor with Daren Kagasoff. Now the production has a leading lady in the form of Olivia Cooke. ”Bates Motel” fans will recognize Cooke who plays the terminally ill Emma on the show. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cooke will play ”a girl who discovers that her dead friend had been messing around with a Ouija board and brings the game home.”
When we reported that Daren Kagasoff has been cast in the project, we said that he would be playing the lead role. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case. THR is indicating that Kagasoff will take on a supporting role in the film and that newly cast Douglas Smith (“Percy Jackson: Sea of Monster”) will take the lead. Smith will play the boyfriend of the deceased girl, who “may know more about her death than he lets on.”
“Ouija” is being directed by Stiles White based on a script he wrote with Juliet Snowden. The film centers around a group of friends who use the iconic Ouija board to contact a deceased friend. However, they unintentionally awaken an evil spirit and must now find a way to close the door they opened.
