Outlast to Get New Story in Upcoming DLC
Outlast, one of the most intense horror game of the year, will be inviting players to journey into the depths of Mount Massive once again, thanks to some new content coming our way.
Developer Red Barrels has started work on a brand-new DLC package for Outlast that’ll contain a new protagonist and storyline that’ll further expand upon the secrets of Mount Massive that were revealed in the original game’s story. More details and a first look at the DLC are expected to arrive this Halloween.
Accompanying the announcement is an offer for those interested in purchasing “Outlast.” Currently the game is 33% off from now until Halloween on Steam and if you purchase the game through Red Barrels’ official site you’ll get the discount, a DRM-free version, a Steam key and the soundtrack (released today).
In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the “research and charity” branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy… until now.
Acting on a tip from an inside source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line between science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.
