Pacific Rim Casts Clifton Collins Jr

Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming creature feature, Pacific Rim, is casting up very nicely indeed. Variety have recently reported that, Clifton Collins Jr. has signed on to star in the film.

Clifton Collins Jr. joins the previously announced cast of Charlie Hunnam, Ildris Elba and Charlie Day.

Travis Beacham is writing the alien story which is set in Japan for Legendary Pictures.

The film is set on an alternate version of Earth in the near future. The story centres on humans piloting giant robots to battle giant aliens that are invading Earth through a wormhole-type structure.

Pacific Rim hits theatres on July 12th, 2013.
