‘Pacific Rim’ Will Live On as a Ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain

Based on the Facebook comments from this week’s article about “Pacific Rim 2” being postponed indefinitely, I might be the only one feeling bummed out.  But for maybe the one or two of you out there who are feeling the burn along with me, there’s some good news to be had this week.

While “Pacific Rim 2” isn’t in our future, the property will be living on as a new ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California.  The new ride is being titled “Pacific Rim 5-D” and be located in the park’s Iwerks Turbo Theater which has been unused for the last few years.

The biggest surprise about this announcement, though, is that the attraction is expected to open within the coming weeks with special previews happening throughout January leading up to the opening.

The ride seems to be based off of the first movie and the attraction will feature “4-D” and in-theater effects.  Stay tuned for more info.
