Paramount Sets Paranormal Activity 5 Release Date

If there was any doubt that this year would be a “Paranormal Activity”-less year, this latest news washes it away as Paramount has announced the dates for both “Paranormal Activity 5″ and spinoff movie “Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones.”

It looks like Paramount intends to make up for this years lack of Activity by bookending next year with a pair of Paranormal movies.  ”Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones” will hit theaters on January 3, 2014 and “Paranormal Activity 5″ will return to it’s King of Halloween status when it drops on October 24, 2014.

Given the dip in quality that “Paranormal Activity 4″ suffered, this might be for the best.  Hopefully this extended break will give the creative time behind the next Paranormal film the time they need to go back and rethink the direction of the series.  Meanwhile, it’ll be interesting to see how a Paranormal spinoff performs and whether or not this strategy of getting two Paranormal films in the same year becomes a norm or if this is just a one time thing.
