PlayStation Reveals Six Minutes of Bloodborne
Gamescom may be over, but the videos are still pouring out. Today Sony put out a new six minute demo video for “Bloodborne” which showcases some of the gameplay and set pieces from the upcoming spiritual successor to “Demon’s Souls.”
In the video, which you can watch below, you’ll see the footage jump around a bit to different points of the demo. Throughout which, the main character will square off against crazy villagers, a troll, a pair of werewolves, a gun-touting man in a wheelchair, and finally a gigantic boss. The video also quickly showcases some of your weaponry and combat abilities, which looks deceptively simple, but veterans of “Demon’s Souls” will know that it takes a degree of skill to fully grasp this kind of combat system.
The atmosphere of the game also seems to somehow be even more oppressive than the “Souls” games. The blending of the horror elements makes you want to cautiously creep around corners despite being a badass with a gun and a scythe. Thankfully it looks like you won’t be completely alone in the game as you can see a random NPC come to the players aid in one of the encounters. Or was it an NPC? Hmmm… Only time will tell.
