Portia De Rossi to Play Lily Munster in Mockingbird Lane

It looks as if Mariana Klaveno will no longer be playing the role of Lily Munster, we previously reported that Klaveno was in talks for the role, contingent on her being released from ABC’s Devious Minds, they didn’t release her. But, NBC has their eyes set on someone else, read on for the details.

According to Deadline, Portia De Rossi (pictured right “Arrested Development”) has been set to play Lily Munster in NBC’s Mockingbird Lane.

The pilot episode is written by Bryan Fuller and directed by Bryan Singer, the TV show is a reinvention of the hit classic The Munsters which will feature;

“Striking visuals in the vein of Fuller’s ABC dramedy Pushing Daisies. Jerry O’Connell plays family patriarch Herman Munster, who is married to Lily (de Rossi), a vampire, with whom he has fathered a 10-year-old boy, Eddie (Mason Cook). Eddie Izzard plays Grandpa. The role of Lily was played by Yvonne De Carlo in the original Munsters sitcom.”
