R.I.P. Michael Clarke Duncan 1957-2012
We here at HM.ca are very sad to report that the gentle giant Michael Clarke Duncan has sadly passed away at the age of just 54.
According to CNN, Duncan passed away on Monday morning at a Los Angeles hospital, he had been there for over seven weeks since his unfortunate initial heart attack this past July 13th.
Michael Clarke Duncan had a striking screen presence, you could instantly connect with the actor and he was a pleasure to watch. Duncan quickly broke out on the scene thanks to films like Armageddon and most notably The Green Mile where he played John Coffey in which he was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe.
He also starred in the genre favorite Sin City as Manute and as always, he nailed the role. Duncan was also said to star in the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
While he was a hulking figure with his instantly recognizable deep voice, he was in fact a gentle giant and his talents on screen are second-to-none.
We here at HM.ca send our condolences to his family and friends during this very difficult time, we will not forget the gentle giant Michael Clarke Duncan, as he will forever live on in film.
