Release Date Set for Beware the Night
If you were eagerly anticipating Beware the Night then I hope you’re a patient individual, cause you’ve got a little bit of a wait on your hands. Director Scott Derrickson’s next film after Sinister has been given a release date and it’s in the far flung future of January 16, 2015. I know, I’m as surprised as you are.
I have no idea why the film would be in production for so long, but it could just be a simple matter of scheduling and getting everyone together to make this thing. With the release being so far off it might be some time before we hear any more solid news other than casting. So, for now, here’s what we do know: Beware the Night is being written by Scott Derrickson and Paul Harris Boardman who have teamed up before to write such films as The Exorcism of Emily Rose and Hellraiser: Inferno. So far the cast includes the likes of Eric Bana, Olivia Munn and Edgar Ramirez.
The story is set in a paranormal world and follows a New York police officer investigating real life demon possessions, exorcisms and werewolves after dark. Bana plays an Irish Catholic cop working a case when he meets a renegade priest. Despite the cop’s beliefs, he’s convinced by the priest that there is a demonic element and together they work to solve the case and combat the paranormal forces working against them. Ramirez plays the priest. Munn plays the cop’s wife, who also has a tie to the case.
