Relive the Magic of Jaws: The Ride
This past January 2nd marks the two year anniversary of Universal Studios Orlando closing down “Jaws: The Ride”. While it may have been a simple attraction, it had a lot of history with with the park having opened way back on June 7th, 1990.
If you never got a chance to experience the attraction while it was thriving and active, we have a video down below which gives you the full ride experience. It was put together by Ricky Brigante over at Inside the Magic and it’s a wonderfully cut video that features a bit of the movie’s classic soundtrack.
As an interesting side note, both “Jaws” and “Jaws: The Ride” shared a similar rocky start. It’s a well known anecdote that the mechanical shark used in the “Jaws” movie was almost always broken. However, the ride also had it’s own technical difficulties during it’s debut. In fact, it was so bad that people had to be evacuated from the attraction on almost a daily basis. Universal Studios eventually sued the original designers of the attraction and basically had to redesign the ride in order to get it functioning. What you’ll see below is the ultimate fruit of those labors.
