Resident Evil 0 is Going to be Remastered for New Consoles
After the remastered version of the Gamecube “Resident Evil” game proved to be a success for Capcom it seemed like a certainty that other remasters would follow. I would’ve put my money on “Resident Evil 2″, but it looks like Capcom is going to be moving backwards.
Revealed at an event in Japan yesterday, Capcom announced that they would be remastering the Gamecube game “Resident Evil 0″ for the PS4, XBox One, PS3, XBox 360, and PC. There’s no firm release date for the remastered version, but they do seem to be targeting 2016.
No other information is available about the game other than that it’ll be worked on by people who worked on the original game. The “Resident Evil” remastered game proved to be a pretty excellent edition of the game as it implemented better controls and some small comfort features, but it was largely the same game that was released on the original Gamecube in a beautiful new package. You could probably expect the same treatment to be given to “Resident Evil 0″, but I’m hoping they actually add some interesting new features this time around.
If you never played “Resident Evil 0″ it takes place before the events of the first “Resident Evil” game and centers on an officer named Rebecca Chambers who is forced to team up with a convict named Billy Coen to get to the bottom of the viral outbreak engulfing Raccoon City.
