Rob Zombie Wants to Know if You Want to See the Firefly Family Return
Rob Zombie has quite a few films under his belt now, but I think that the one that tends to get the most amount of love is “The Devil’s Rejects.” While Zombie’s films tend to be divisive, people seem to react more favorably whenever “The Devil’s Rejects” is brought up. And it would seem that Rob himself has a special affinity for the movie and it’s characters as he’s considering revisiting them once again.
Over on his Instagram page Rob Zombie posted an image of “The Devil’s Rejects” along with this question:
Just curious would anybody be interested in watching another movie starring these three characters? Enough interest and anything can happen.
Way back in 2014 Rob Zombie admitted that he had an idea for a “Devil’s Rejects” sequels, but said that it was out of his hands because the characters were owned by Lionsgate.
I’ve always thought I’d like to make another movie, because I love the characters, and I have an idea I think is solid for a third one – an idea that would make sense. The problem is, I don’t own the characters now. They’re owned by Lionsgate, and they just don’t have any desire to do anything. So it isn’t me not doing it because I don’t want to; I don’t have the ability to get it done.
It seems that two years later that idea is still burning a hole in his pocket and he really wants to let it out. Fan support is a sure way to go these days, just look at how diehard fans helped to bring “The X-Files” back for another run. If Lionsgate thinks there’s money to be made with another sequel, they would surely be open to it, but the interest has to be raised by the fans in order for that to happen.
What do you think? Is there enough interest out there to get a new film starring the Firefly clan? Let us know down below.
