Ron Perlman and Christopher Plummer Will Lend Their Voices to an Animated ‘Lovecraft’ Movie
If you’re looking for great voices to add to your animated movie, you really can’t go wrong with the grizzled gullet of Ron Perlman and the dignified air that Christopher Plummer provides. But what’s even more exciting about those two voices coming together is that they’ll be doing so for a Lovecraft film.
Shout! Factory has revealed that it is putting together an animated film based on the graphic novel “Howard Lovecraft and the Frozen Kingdom” with director Sean Patrick O’Flattery set to helm the project. Deadline says that the project is designed “to blend the biography of the young H.P. with his writings in a family-friendly genre that will both be spooky and entertain.”
Ron Perlman will play Shoggoth, a monster who appears in the Lovecraft mythos, while Plummer will voice a character named Dr. Herbert West. Based on the stuff I’ve seen this looks like a fantastical Tim Burton-esque tale, so i’m eager to see how they bring it to life. Thankfully we won’t have long to wait as the film is set to release in Fall 2016.
