Ron Perlman Joins Pacific Rim

Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim just got a whole lot more awesome, well, in my opinion anyway. It appears as if Ron Perlman is attached to star in the upcoming monster vs. alien flick.

Talking recently with Wired, Guillermo mentioned that Perlman is among the cast and revealed what his plans are for the film.

“It’s really, it’s a very, very beautiful poem to giant monsters. Giant monsters versus giant robots. Twenty-five-story-high robots beating the crap out of 25-story-high monsters. We’re trying to create a world in which the characters are real and how it would affect our world politically, how it would affect the landscape if creatures like this really came out of the sea, etc.”

Ron Perlman joins the previously announced cast of  Idris Elba, Rob Kazinsky, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi and Charlie Hunnam.

Look for Pacific Rim in theatres on May 10, 2013 from Legendary Pictures.
