Samuel L. Jackson Signs up for ‘Blob’ Remake
Finally, my fan fiction about Nick Fury recruiting horror icons is one step closer to becoming a reality. It looks like one legendary actor will be taking on an iconic monster in a upcoming remake.
According to Deadline Samuel L. Jackson has signed on to star in Simon West’s remake of “The Blob.” In the film Jackson will play a biochemistry professors who steps up to the task of putting an end to the Blob’s insatiable appetite. Hopefully this won’t turn into a “Deep Blue Sea” situation for Sam. I think it’s about time he got a win against a monstrous force.
“The Blob”, if you’ve somehow never heard of it, is about a mysterious organism from space that lands on Earth. The gelatin-esque creature soon begins to devour everything in its wake and threatens to destroy a small American town and…possibly… the world.
Simon West is currently set to direct the remake. Here’s a fun fact for you: While Simon West is best known for one of the best cheesy 90’s actions films “Con Air”, he got his start by directing the Rick Astley “Never Gonna Give You Up” music video. Remember that the next time you see the Blob chasing down some hapless victim.
