‘Saw’ Writers Working on a Possible Holiday Slasher Movie
Well, well, well Platinum Dunes what do we have here? Are you looking to create another little horror franchise for yourself? It looks like production company Platinum Dunes is looking to dive into the world of holiday horror.
According to Deadline Sony and Platinum Dunes are working on a horror pitch from Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. These guys know a thing or two about writing horror movies as they’ve worked on “Saw IV” through “Saw 3D: The Final Chapter” and films like “The Collection” and “The Neighbour.” So what is their pitch exactly? That’s a great question because we don’t know a whole lot about it except for two things.
For one, Deadline is reporting that the film will be in the vein of something like “Scream” and “I Know What you Did Last Summer” and that it’s a holiday movie. So I think that leaves everything from Thanksgiving to New Years on the table. Christmas slasher? Turkey day maniac? Kwanzaa killer? All we know is that with guys like Melton and Dunstan working on it it’s sure to be gruesome.
