‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’ Releases a New Teaser Trailer
Remember when we got those 30 second Super Bowl spots for “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark?” While it was great to get a taste of the film, it was so frustrating to see such a tiny snippet. Thankfully CBS Films has finally released a proper teaser trailer and I am completely satisfied.
“Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” is an adaptation of the infamous children’s books that either traumatized as you a kid or made you a huge fan of nightmarish horror. The stories inside the books were pretty rough for a kid’s book, but it was the art that really freaked me the hell out.
The adaptation is being directed by Andre Ovredal and produced by Guillermo del Toro. Here’s how CBS films describes it.
It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying home.
The film is set to hit theaters August 9, 2019.
