Scott Z. Burns To Pen Rise of the Planet of the Apes Sequel
I think Rise of the Planet of the Apes pretty much shocked us all as the film actually hit the mark. So its no wonder that a sequel quickly got underway and we have word of a potential writer to pen the sequel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Z. Burns (Contagion) has been tapped to pen the sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
“The project continues the story set forth in last year’s critical and commercial hit movie featuring simians that are given human intelligence and subsequently break out of their facility. At the same time, a virus breaks out that causes the collapse of human society.”
The sequel is said to take the apes on a new path as they emerge as society’s new leaders.
Andy Serkis, who played Caesar, the lead ape will be returning as will the original helmer, Rupert Wyatt.
