Sharknado 3 Gets the Greenlight
“Sharknado 2″ is still a few months away, but it looks like SyFy is confident in the future success of their potential franchise as they’re moving forward with a third sequel.
AdWeek broke the news today saying that SyFy told them exclusively that they would be moving forward with another film that will be out in 2015. The announcement of the first sequel caused quite a stir on Twitter and led to a flurry of actors trying to get cameos in the second film so as to be in on the joke. I have to imagine that if the second film is able to replicate the success of the first, you’ll see just as much fanfare for the third film.
So where do you go with a third Sharknado? The first nearly destroyed Los Angeles and the second has its eye set on New York City. What’s next? Personally, I’m voting we take it out of the U.S. and make this a worldwide threat. Perhaps Brazil? Or Australia? I’m thinking Australia. There’s plenty of comedy potential, because there’s something humorous about importing a dangerous phenomenon into a country already known for its dangerous wildlife. What say you? Let us know!
