Sony Planning ‘Insidious’ Sequel

Released back in April, Insidious was a box office hit, making a total of $91.9 million worldwide. It was only a matter of time before they started planning the sequel. According to Bloody-Disgusting.com, Sony has taken a number of domain names like insidious2-movie.net among others. While it’s not 100% yet, we know Sony is planning ahead.

I seem to be one of the many few who didn’t like Insidious. While there were some creepy aspects to the movie, all in all it was a disappointment to me. The majority of it was boring. The red faced demon strongly resembled Darth Maul. I didn’t like the concept of “The Further”. I saw the ending right when Josh went into The Further to retrieve Dalton. I thought that whole scene was weird and confusing, especially with all the different figures and their weird movements. To me, it took too long for the movie to pick up and when it finally did, I was already done with it.

What could a sequel possibly do to change my mind? Would they continue with the Lambert family and what happens to them or would they continue with a whole new family and a whole new story? Some movies should just end with the first one and I think this is one of them. While it may work for some people, it just doesn’t work for me.

Again, I’m the 1% that didn’t like the film. Every person I have talked to about it has loved it and has been terrified by it and while that baffles me, I can understand it. I might think a sequel is a bad idea but it has such money making potential considering its fan base.
