Spike Has Given a Pilot Order for a TV Series Based on ‘The Mist’
Last year we started to hear the rumblings about a potential TV series based on the Stephen King story “The Mist.” With such a fantastically dark story it seemed likely that it would probably find itself on cable, but I never would have expected this network to pick it up.
Deadline is reporting that cable network Spike has put in a pilot order for a TV series based on King’s “The Mist.” The pilot will be written by Christian Torpe who previously worked on Danish shows like “Rita” and “Hjordis.”
In “The Mist” a small town is engulfed by an ominous mist that contains lovecraftian horrors. This will mark the second adaptation of the story as “The Mist” was originally turned into a film in 2007 by Frank Darabont. That was a generally well-liked adaptation, despite a change to the ending that some fans truly hated. Personally I loved the ending, but different strokes for different folks.
