Stake Land to be Developed into a TV Series
Yep. You read that right. One of the best vampire films of recent times, if not of all time looks as if it is making the leap into the realm of TV and I say, why the hell not! If From Dusk Till Dawn can do it, so can Stake Land, and to tell you the truth, I’m pretty damn stoked.
According to the folks over at The Wrap, Jim Mickle and writer/actor Nick Damici are set to team up once again, but this time for the small screen version of Stake Land.
Greg Newman, who also executive produced the movie is set to be involved with the planned TV series as well.
At this time, the series is said to begin seven years after the events of the feature film, which will also feature new species of vampires.
Damici tells the site;
They all mutated, there’s tons of different vamps. I said to Greg, the only thing I’ll need — I’ll write my ass off — the only thing is I’ve got to have enough of a budget to have flying vamps. It spread to animals, so we’ve got vamp dogs and a vamp bear.
This I think is just ripe for the picking. Stake Land is such a large world that there was only so much they could show in the film, so obviously a TV series sounds as if they can expand on that. As for vampire bears and dogs? Who knows, but having Jim Mickle on-board again gives me some comfort.
So, what do you guys think?
