The Conjuring to Spawn a Spin-Off that Focuses on Annabelle?

Well, we all know how well The Conjuring turned out at the box-office, even if some of you weren’t too keen on the film itself. So, with talk of a sequel on the horizon, it appears we may be seeing even more as the creepy doll, Annabelle, appears to be getting a movie all of her own.

The guys over at Schmoes Know, apparently received word that New Line and Warner Bros. are taking The Conjuring franchise in a different direction as they plan to unleash the spin-off, simply titled ‘Annabelle‘.

John R. Leonetti who was the director of photography on the first film is said to be directing the spin-off which will film in the Spring of 2014. But, if I were you, I would just file this one under rumor for now until we hear more.

But, that’s not all. The site also reports that the Hayes brothers, who wrote the original film, are said to hard at work writing the sequel and apparently Warner Bros. are hoping to get James Wan back behind the camera for the upcoming sequel.

Even if Wan will not return for the sequel, Warner Bros. are prepared to go ahead without him.
