‘The Curse of Poltergeist’ Documentary Explores the Unknown
It’s no secret, the Poltergeist franchise has been plagued with many unfortunate tragedies which some believe is a curse which plagued the cast. I mean if you look back, Dominique Dunne was murdered by her ex-boyfriend and the young Heather O’Rourke passed away at the age of just twelve due to an acute bowel obstruction just before the third film was released.
It definitely leads you to believe that the franchise was cursed, and that’s what producer and filmmaker Adam Ripp wants to do, he wants to get to the bottom of the apparent curse in his documentary, The Curse of Poltergeist.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ripp’s company, Vega Baby, is financing and producing alongside Indonesia-based MD Pictures with a start date expected to begin this November.
The Curse of Poltergeist is said to focus on the life and experiences of Poltergeist actor Oliver Robins, who played Robbie Freeling in the first and second film, and he hopes to explore the tragedies that have befallen many of those that have been affected by the film.
Robbins told the site;
It will be a journey into the unknown as I attempt to understand the meaning behind the tragedies surrounding the movie. It’s something that will hopefully bring closure to a dark chapter in my life.
I am always interested in stories like these, much like The Exorcist, so I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for this one. If this is something you’d like to know more about we’ll do our best to keep you updated.
