‘The Exorcist’ is Coming to Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights
“What an excellent day for an exorcism!” If you’ve been following the work of John Murdy and his creative team at Universal Studios Hollywood, then you might know that “The Exorcist” has been one of his most desired projects. For one reason or another it seemed like it would be an impossible task to bring the iconic film to the park, but now we’ve learned it’s finally happening this year.
Universal Studios Hollywood has announced today that “The Exorcist” will be coming to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando this year. The wording of the press release put out today makes it sound like there might be some slight differences in what the parks do with the property. Check out what they had to say below.
At Universal Orlando Resort, guests will see, hear, feel – and even smell – every iconic levitating, head-spinning, vomit-wrenching, skin-crawling moment from the film. They’ll be paralyzed with fear as they witness the power of the supernatural, scream uncontrollably as they become part of Regan MacNeil’s possession and run in terror as they try to escape the horrific battle between innocence and evil.
Universal Studios Hollywood’s “The Exorcist” maze will resonate as a real life interpretation of the demonic film, daring “Halloween Horror Nights’” guests to live the nightmare experienced by a tortured Regan and her determined mother. The maze will recreate some of the film’s most haunting scenes, ushering guests into its unparalleled terror as if their very souls were possessed by the devil.
Halloween Horror Nights kicks off this September. Judging by some of the announcements made thus far for Orlando, it’s going to be a fantastic year. Now if I could just get more Hollywood announcements I’d be a happy boy.
