The Green Inferno Has a Release Date
For those of you that haven’t been fortunate enough to catch Eli Roth’s “The Green Inferno” while it was touring the festival circuit, you’ll finally going to get a proper chance to see it. Open Road has finally given Roth’s tribute to cannibal cinema a release date.
“The Green Inferno” was directed by Eli Roth from a script he wrote with Guillermo Amoedo. The movie follows a group of idealistic college students from New York as they journey down to the Amazon to protest a construction project that is pushing a local tribe off their land. However, when their plane crashes, the students are taken hostage by the same villagers they came to protect. As it turns out, those villagers have a taste for human flesh.
Open Road has set the film’s release date for September 5th, 2014. That’s a week ahead of “Resident Evil 6″ and on the same dates as Lionsgate’s “Addicted”. It’s a prime spot for a time of the year when people are starting to gear up for Halloween. Hopefully it’ll prove to be a profitable placement.
