The New ‘Children of the Corn’ Movie is a ‘Runaway’
As you’re well aware, a new Children of the Corn movie is reportedly in production via Dimension Films, and everything seems to be top-secret. But, our friends over at Bloody-Disgusting have done a little digging and have unearthed some new details from the latest installment.
According to the site, the new movie is reportedly titled Children of the Corn: Runaway, and is written by Joel Soisson, with John Gulager on directing duties.
The film is said to follow “a young pregnant woman who escapes a murderous child cult in a small Midwestern town. She then spends the next decade living anonymously in an attempt to spare her son the horrors that she experienced as a child. She lands in the small Oklahoma town…but something is following her. Now, she must confront this evil or lose her child.”
The site has also stated that the main character’s name is Ruth, which could tie the movie into the 2009 made-for-TV remake of Children of the Corn.
Filming is said to wrap this April 2nd.
And that’s it, for now. As always, we will do our best to keep you updated as the film progresses, and considering the film completes filming next month, I’m sure it won’t be long until we have a slew of updates.
