‘The Ring’ Sequel Moves from 2015 to 2016
Did you know that a “Ring” sequel was coming in 2015? I knew that a “Ring” movie was in development, but it had completely slipped my mind that it was due out next month. It’s kind of crazy to think we are a month away from a new “Ring” and we haven’t even gotten so much as a teaser trailer. And that’s why today’s news makes a whole lot of sense.
The Wrap has learned that Paramount’s upcoming release of “The Ring” sequel, known as “Rings”, has been pushed back from November 13, 2015 to sometime in 2016. Apparently November 13th is bad luck for horror movies as you might remember at the beginning of this year when we reported that the new “Friday the 13th” movie had lost it’s November 13th release date to “Rings.”
“Rings” will be directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (“Before the Fall”) and will star the likes of Matilda Lutz, John Galecki, Adam Fristoe, and Aimee Teegarden based on a script written by Jacob Aaron Estes (“Mean Creek”).
