The Sequel to New Line’s ‘It’ Arrives in 2019
In 2019, we’ll all float once again! Who’s stoked for the second chapter of Stephen King’s It? [REVIEW] Me personally, I loved the film and I’m interested in seeing how they handle the second chapter. And speaking of which, we can reveal that the sequel will arrive in theatres on September 6, 2019, which is the same post-Labor Day frame that the first part arrived in.
And considering that the first chapter racked in a massive $13.5M on its preview night, making it the largest opening for a film based on a book as well as carving out a nice chunk of $266.1M at the domestic box office, it makes sense that they’d choose the same release date frame.
And if that wasn’t enough, It had the biggest opening for an R-rated film and even beat out The Exorcist, and the film has nearly half a billion in sales worldwide! It has truly become a phenomenon.
But with all this talk of big earnings, what did you make of the film? Will you be heading out to catch the second chapter or did this one miss the mark for you? Let us know.
The sequel will once again be directed by Andy Muschietti as it focuses on The Loser’s Club some 27 years later.
