‘The Strangers 2’ Will Get a December 2016 Release
News of a “Strangers 2” has been kicking around for awhile, but whether or not the film would see the light of day seemed uncertain over the last few months. Relativity, the production company putting “The Strangers 2” together, had been going through some financial upheaval as they filed for bankruptcy. But now the skies seem a little clearer for the company as they’ve announced release dates for five upcoming films.
The film we’re most interested is the long awaited sequel to the 2008 horror flick “The Strangers.” Before “microbudget horror” was a thing “The Strangers” enjoyed moderate success in theaters and has since gone on to gain more fans over the years. It’s no surprise that Relativity would be revisiting it now as the production company could use a sure fire hit.
“The Strangers 2” will be hitting theaters next year on December 2nd and might be directed by Marcel Langenegger. I say might because that bit of news was revealed at the beginning of the year and there’s no word on whether or not he’s still attached.
Another unknown is whether or not cast members from the original “Strangers” will return, but given the mysterious nature of the antagonists it seems possible that just about anyone could slip into that role.
