The Town that Dreaded Sundown Gets Three More
The Town that Dreaded Sundown just added three more actors to it’s growing population. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Gary Cole, Veronica Cartwright and Joshua Leonard have joined the updated remake of the 1970s horror flick.
The Town that Dreaded Sundown takes place in Texarkana, site of the 1946 “Moonlight Murders” that inspired the 1976 cult pic The Town That Dreaded Sundown. Addison Timlin plays Jami, a girl who survives a copycat massacre at the film’s annual tribute screening and sets out to solve the mystery of who’s recreating the unsolved Sackhead murders, using clues from her own past.
Veronica Cartwright will play Jami’s Grandmother who raised her after her parents died in a car crash. For some unknown reason, Jami’s Grandmother also becomes a target for the killers. Gary Cole is the town Sheriff who is in hot pursuit of the killers and Joshua Leonard is his deputy who is assigned to protect Jami and her Grandmother.
The film is being directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (American Horror Story) and written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa who wrote the upcoming Carrie remake.
