The Walking Dead Spin-Off Will Be Set in Los Angeles
How do you differentiate your zombie show set in the south from it’s new counterpart? By moving it to the west coast apparently. It looks like the new “Walking Dead” companion series will be set in the modern day disaster zone of beautiful Los Angeles.
TVLine broke the news today that AMC is planning to set the new series in the city of Los Angeles. How long our heroes will remain in Los Angeles is another matter, but I can imagine it would take a long time to escape a gridlocked Los Angeles swarming with zombies.
The news comes on the heels of the recent casting of Cliff Curtis, who is set to be the lead of the series, along with Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey. There are still rumors circulating that the new series could be a prequel of sorts that’ll focus on the early days of the outbreak. Those details haven’t been confirmed by AMC though. For now, it’ll be interesting to see what they do with a diverse location like California. You’ve got some interesting options for escaping the zombies there. Do you head to the mountains? The sea? The desert? I’m curious to see how much the location influences the narrative and direction of the story.
