The Writer of ‘The Strangers’ is Taking on a Serial Killer Robot

While many are still hoping for a sequel to “The Strangers”, they may be able to take comfort in a new project from writer/director Bryan Bertino.

The man who wrote and directed “The Strangers” back in 2008 is now lending his writing talents to a new feature film that’s based on a short film about a killer robot.  Deadline is reporting that Bertino has been tapped by MGM to write a script for the upcoming film “Abe” which is to be directed by Rob McLellan.

“Abe” is based on a short film which McLellan wrote and directed himself and released last year to critical praise.  The short film features a robot struggling to come to terms with his ability to love and his desire to be loved in return.  You can check out the film for yourself down below.  Personally, I think Bertino is a perfect fit for the project and I’m always a fan of killer robots. I can’t wait to see where this goes.
