Thomas Jane Enters “The Veil”
Anyone else think Thomas Jane is a criminally underrated actor? He’s good in just about everything I see him in, but he doesn’t seem to generate much recognition. That all might change starting this year as the actor is slated to star in six films throughout 2014. And now he’s just signed on to be in Blumhouse’s next horror film.
According to THR, Thomas Jane has signed on to star in “The Veil.” The film is being directed by Phil Joanou who, among his other credits, helped Jane to create the short film “Dirty Laundry” which you can check out below.
Robert Ben Garant (co-creator and one of the stars of “Reno 911″) wrote the film for Blumhouse, which marks his second horror collaboration with the production company. Here’s how THR describes the film:
The story springs from the real-world headlines of religious cults and mass suicides. WithVeil, it begins 30 years ago, when members of a religious cult known as Heaven’s Veil take their own lives. The truth behind what really happened remains buried deep in the memory of the sole survivor, a five-year-old girl, who returns to the compound with a documentary crew as an adult. They soon discover something that is far more terrifying than anything they could have imagined.
Universal is set to distribute the film.
