Under the Dome to End It’s Reign of Terror After Three Seasons
It looks like the dome is finally coming down for good. CBS has announced today that the third season of “Under the Dome” will indeed by the final season.
“Under the Dome”, based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, started out with a great deal of promise. The first season laid down some interesting groundwork, but when it became apparent that CBS wanted to stretch this mini-series out over several seasons things began to unravel.
However, that didn’t stop me from watching the show. In fact things had gotten so bad that they were actually starting to become good again. I wanted to know just how bad things would get, it was like a horrible addiction I couldn’t break myself from.
Unfortunately, I had no idea how intense this roller coaster of shame could get. Season three managed to achieve new levels of gut wrenching melodrama and absurd plot lines. I’m not entirely sure that the last season wasn’t some sort of abstract work of art meant to shine a light on our tortured souls.
However, that being said, I’ll miss “Under the Dome” and the laughs we had. I just hope I can somehow readjust to life outside of the dome. It won’t be easy, but I know that there are others out there like me who have been irrevocably changed by the dome. If we work together, we can get through this.
The producers have said that the final episode of this season will finally answer all of the questions we’ve had over the years and will provide closure to the series as the residents of Chester’s Mill wage war one last time with each other.
