Universal Renames “Dracula” to “Dracula Untold”
Who got told? Apparently not Dracula. Universal is on a roll with their name changes as of late. Right on the heels of yesterday’s “Jurassic World” announcement, Universal has revealed the new title for their upcoming Dracula film: “Dracula Untold.”
Maybe it’s me, but doesn’t the title sound like something that would’ve been on a supermarket tabloid? Dracula Exposed! Dracula Revealed! Dracula Untold? It’s a strange title that lacks any meaningful punch to it. However, you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. Even if the book is called something silly, the content within could be masterfully written.
Beyond the title, Universal didn’t release any other details about the project so we can assume that, for now, the current information remains the same. The film is due out on October 3, 2014 and will be directed by Gary Shore from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
The film stars Luke Evans as the legendary vampire and will work as an origin story of sorts that tells how he became the Dracula we all know and love.
