Uwe Boll Explains his Film Auschwitz
Uwe Boll has often been called the ‘worst director’ but I guess it all comes down to personal taste and sure he has made a slew of stinkers but tackling such a controversial subject such as Auschwitz may push him away from that title as the teaser trailer looks brutal, not full of gimmicks, just showing the shocking brutality which unfortunately unfolded. This may be his true calling, as upsetting as the film may be.
Auschwitz was quite a tough teaser to watch so you have to question, what will the entire film be like? The film has already sparked controversy and the Berlin Film Festival refused to show his film.
In a recent interview with YnetNews Uwe Boll goes into detail about his upcoming film Auschwitz and the reasons behind it, check out an excerpt below;
“The reason for the movie is to not forget,” Boll explains his motives. “The movie is made for the people who deny or don’t know enough about the holocaust. It will possibly be tough for survivors to watch that movie, but I think they will agree that the movie is important.”
We actually had a survivor in the gas chamber, and he was overwhelmed with the situation. If you see the movie, he is the old man just standing there while everybody was flipping out.
Auschwitz stars Arved Birnbaum, Uwe Boll, Nik Goldman and Maximillian Gartner.
