[Video] Massive Blood Drive PSA for the 7th Annual Women in Horror Month
It’s February 1, 2016, and you know what that means? Women in Horror Month, and what better way than to kick off the month of February than with copious amounts of blood at the hands of some of the finest directors you’re ever going to grace your horror-filled eyes upon. As always, the Soska sisters have unleashed the PSA, to try to get you guys to donate some of the good stuff, blood. It might not seem like much, but your blood could be saving someone’s life right now, so you know what to do.
This is the 7th annual Women in Horror Month, can you believe it? It’s insane, and just goes to show you how talented these ladies really are, so, are you ready for the mayhem? Check out the MASSIVE blood drive PSA below, and share the hell out of it to let the blood flow.
The PSA starts off with a dark and twisted bang with Gigi Saul Guerrero’s ‘O Negative,’ it’s a beautifully shot piece which starts off extremely unnerving, and then switches it up with a dash of comedy. It’s effective, poignant and thus showcasing Gigi Saul Guerrero’s love for the genre. The short kinda reminds of Frank Henenlotter’s Brain Dead with the creature ‘Aylmer.’
Next we venture into the world of Jill Sixx’s ‘The Lurrmanns‘ which is a visual, erotic treat, featuring two sexy vampires who engage in the joy’s of someone else’s blood. Who ever thought giving blood could be so sexy?
We then move onto Women in Horror Month founder, Hannah Neurotica’s ‘Tom Daloney’s Annual Blood Drive Drive event 1993‘ a wacky, fun and juice filled horror segment, that should get you donating in no time. Seriously, this one is great fun.
Now we move onto Tristan Risk’s directorial debut ‘Full Moon‘ and of course, Tristan is holding no punches as she gets straight to the naked dude, blood and yes, Hitler! It’s as mad as it sounds.
Next is Maude Michaud’s ‘Give or Take‘ which takes organ donation to a whole new level. You’ll see what I mean.
Then we move onto Joe Magna’s ‘Blood Overdrive,’ a short which shows the fear of needles full-on. Seriously, if you have a fear of needles, you’ll relate to this sucker, while also going on a little psychedelic trip.
Patricia Chica’s ‘Bloody Burlesque‘ is absolutely mesmerizing, which has a very serious undertone, which will keep you fascinated throughout as we celebrate the true wonders of blood. It’s brilliant, it really is.
Veronica Hampson and Kate Taeuschel’s ‘B Positive‘ sells blood on the black market, but it’s not the blood in the box that the buyer is after. As a deliciously good time. Also, guess who’s back? Yep, freakin’ Hitler!
Lisa Ovies unleashes ‘Blood and Dinosaurs‘ which cements the need for more blood donation, while sacrificing the life of one serious muppet, for the greater good of course. It’s a fun little segment.
Nicole McClure’s ‘Blood for America‘ takes us to the military where a “volunteer” reveals just how much blood is in the human body, so there really is enough to go around. FYI, you may just want to keep a little for yourself.
Andy Stewart’s ‘Sanguins Domini‘ unleashes a public service announcement in regards to the importance of giving blood, while performing a little blood ritual as we witness the flesh in all its glory.
Throughout, Jen and Sylvia Soska were being invaded by Hitler, as they try to reiterate the importance of giving blood. Hitler doesn’t see it that way, don’t be a Hitler, give blood and save a life. I absolutely loved the blood drive PSA this year and I hope you did too. Follow the instructions within the video on how to book your blood donation appointment today.
