Vincent D’Onofrio Cast as the Villain in Jurassic World
We’re a little over a year away from the release of “Jurassic World” in 2015, but the project seems to be solidifying just a little bit more each day. Earlier this year we learned that Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt had signed on to the project as the main protagonists. Now we know who will be playing the antagonist.
Deadline has announced that Vincent D’Onofrio (“Law and Order: Criminal Intent”) has been cast in the upcoming sequel as a “bad guy.” No other specifics were given, but we can probably make guesses as to what sort of villain D’Onofrio will portray. In previous films, the “bad guy” tended to be morally compromised business men and intellectuals. I’m putting money on D’Onofrio being a corrupt Ingen executive or a representative of a rival corporate entity.
Also joining the film is Irrfan Khan (“Life of Pi”), though his role is still unannounced. Irrfan has been a long rumored addition to “Jurassic World”, but now it seems as if has addition has been confirmed.
Colin Trevorrow will direct the upcoming sequel using a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. The film is expected to hit theaters on June 12, 2015.
