Watch: Alien Invasion Short The Swarm

We live in a time where filmmaking is only limited to your imagination. You can film on anything these days and still pull off a great looking film. Case in point is Tom Harper’s alien invasion short The Swarm.

Harper’s The Swarm was filmed entirely on a mobile phone, an Xperia arc s phone to be precise, where he shot the film over a two day period while editing using the Xperia Studio. In any event, you can view the entire short below as well as a behind-the-scenes reel. Enjoy.

Inspired by how much news footage we see today that is shot entirely on mobile phones, Harper translated that idea into a terrifying short film that is suggestive of the style of filmmaking we regularly see in news coverage of natural disasters.”
