Will We Meet Jason’s Dad in the New ‘Friday the 13th’?
Yesterday we reported that the new “Friday the 13th” film could be an origin story of sorts with the film examining a bit of Jason’s history. Now we’re learning that a certain someone might play a role in that story.
While fans are intimately familiar with Jason’s mother Pamela Voorhees, we’ve yet to see his father appear in a film. Inside sources have reportedly informed Birth Movies Death that the new “Friday the 13th” film would finally shed some light on the mysterious paternal figure. According to the site Jason’s father, Elias, has a role in writer Aaron Guzikowski’s script.
As the site points out, Elias has had a bit of history with the “Friday the 13th” film series despite never being seen. He has nearly appeared in several films and has certainly been mentioned. The closest thing we have come to actually meeting Elias was a comic book series entitled “Friday the 13th: Pamela’s Tale.”
With a series that has done everything from go to space to fight another iconic horror villain, there isn’t a whole lot of ground left to cover. Exploring a rarely seen figure like Elias Voorhees seems like a smart route to take. This guy had a hand in creating one of the most dangerous killers in the world, it would be incredibly exciting to shed some light on him and give him a bigger role in the “Friday the 13th” legacy. Hopefully they’re able to find a good story to really underscore his introduction to the lore.
