Zack Snyder to Direct Zombie Heist Film ‘Army of the Dead’
It’s been a long way since we’ve seen Zack Snyder step into the realm of horror. His big directorial debut was with “Dawn of the Dead” and after that he launched into a career of high spectacle comic book adaptations. Now it looks like Snyder is returning to his zombie roots with a new film.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that director Zack Snyder is beginning production on an original film titled “Army of the Dead” for Netflix. Snyder reportedly came up with the story and it was scripted by Joby Harold who last worked on the 2017 “King Arthur.”
According to THR “Army of the Dead” will be a zombie horror film with a bit of a heist mixed in:
The adventure is set amid a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, during which a man assembles a group of mercenaries to take the ultimate gamble, venturing into the quarantined zone to pull off the greatest heist ever attempted.
No word on when it’ll be released, but since it’ll be on Netflix it can be dropped at any moment. Maybe not anytime soon . . . but keep an eye out just in case.
